Tracking Funding Trends
The Funding Trends section is designed to provide you with information about developments in funding
patterns and insight into the future of funding at the national level.
Begin your search by looking for articles in the Fundraising category in the list at left. Trends
that are specific to one service area are categorized appropriately (Technology, for example) – however,
many trend articles apply across categories. You can also begin your search by entering key words in the
Search All box in the upper right hand corner of this page (below the City Connect Detroit logo). You will
see summary information for any trend article that includes your key word(s) in its name or description –
regardless of category.
Portions of this Funding Trends section are made possible through a collaborative effort between City Connect Detroit and the Society for Nonprofit Organizations.

Narrowing Your Search
Once you use one of these methods to find funding trends information, you can narrow the results of your search in several ways:
- Subcategories: If the category you selected has sub-categories, the list of sub-categories will be displayed in the left column. Click on a sub-category to refine your search.
- Key Words: To search for key words in the category you have selected, enter a key word or phrase into the Search In box in the blue area at left. This searches for your key word or phrase only in the category you’ve selected.
NOTE: You cannot use Search In until you select a category. If you want to search for key words in all categories,
use the Search All box at the upper right of this page.
Other Resources
Every time you narrow your selection to a category, other resources in the City Connect Detroit database will
be listed on the right side of the screen, under Browse Other Topics. These include articles on grant opportunities,
research and resources designed to streamline your proposal writing process, and websites and other links relevant
to your search. Use these resources to help you find funding and to strengthen your proposals.
