• Click on a category at left to see all funding opportunities in that category. You will see summary information for each opportunity. Click on the opportunity title to see the details of the funding opportunity, and to download any important application documents.

• Search for key words in the Search All box in the upper right hand corner of this page (below the City Connect Detroit logo). You will see summary information for any opportunity that includes your key word(s) in its name or description – regardless of category. Click on the opportunity title to see the details of the funding opportunity, and to download any important application documents.

• If you are searching for a specific type of grants, try our Advanced Search page to quickly specify the type of grants you are searching for.

Narrowing Your Search
Once you use one of these methods to find funding opportunities, you can narrow the results of your search in several ways:

• Subcategories: If the category you selected has sub-categories, the list of sub-categories will be displayed in the left column. Click on a sub-category to refine your search.
• Key Words: To search for key words in the category you have selected, enter a key word or phrase into the Search In box in the blue area at left. This searches for your key word or phrase only in the category you’ve selected.

NOTE: You cannot use Search In until you select a category. If you want to search for key words in all categories, use the Search All box at the upper right of this page.

• Source: Click on these options to narrow your selection to either federal and state or foundation funding sources.
• Amount: Click on the amounts listed to narrow your selection to a specific range of funding.
• Due Date: Click on these options to limit your results to funding opportunities with due dates within specific periods of time.
• Funders: This list includes all funders listed in the category you selected. Click on a funder to limit your search to only the funder you selected.

Other Resources
Every time you narrow your selection to a category, other resources in the City Connect Detroit database will be listed on the right side of the screen, under Browse Other Topics. These include articles on funding trends, research and resources designed to streamline your proposal writing process, and websites and other links relevant to your search. Use these resources to plan for the future and to strengthen your proposal.
